EPL: Ten Hag sends message to Man Utd board over De Jong

Manchester United chief, Erik ten Hag, has advised the club's board to keep pushing for Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, regardless of whether he isn't endorsed before the new Premier League season begins.Earlier this week, Man United agreed with Barcelona that would see them pay €75m (£63.7m) front and center in addition to a further €10m (£8.5m) in additional items for De Jong.

In any case, the Netherlands global is resolved to remaining at Barcelona and has shown no open sign that he would be ready to join the Red Devils.

In spite of De Jong's obvious hesitance to join the Premier League goliaths this mid year, The Guardian reports that Ten Hag has told the club's CEO Richard Arnold and football chief John Murtough to continue on, regardless of whether the player isn't endorsed before their Premier League opener against Brighton on August 7.Ten Hag sees his countryman as a critical piece of his arrangements at Man United, yet De Jong has clarified that he needs to remain at the Catalan club.
